I am an artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. I was born in the Free State in 1989 and then moved to the Eastern Cape where I grew up. I obtained my fine art degree in 2011 from Rhodes University, where I specialised in photography. I moved to Cape Town to pursue a career in photography and have worked as a professional photographer for 12 years. And although photography inspires me and deeply influences my work, my true passion and love is drawing. I fell in love with this medium in varsity and is something I've continued to practice throughout the years. This love turned into a true calling to pursue as a career and now I spend my days drawing in various dry media, including pastel, charcoal and graphite. My work focuses on nature and our relationship to the earth. These works speak about our interdependence with the natural world and how our behaviours effect the other. I hope to inspire and create awareness at the same time.
